BALLET
Ballet is the foundation of all dance – graceful, disciplined and expressive. At Maggie May’s, students follow the {insert syllabus name} syllabus, starting with our specially designed preschool programme.
As children grow, they progress through eight Ballet Grades, with pointe work introduced from age 11 (once feet are ready). We also offer an additional Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) class to strengthen core skills. Optional examinations are available at every stage, with teachers guiding students when they’re ready.
TAP
Tap is all about rhythm, timing and musicality – and our students love making music with their feet!
Classes follow the IDTA tap syllabus, focusing on:
- Developing rhythm and coordination
- Building strength and flexibility
- Exploring fun, creative footwork
Children also get to showcase their progress through continuous assessments and performances.
ACROBATIC ARTS
For the kids who are always upside down! Acro combines dance technique with exciting tricks like cartwheels, balances, bridges and eventually flips and tumbling. Students build strength, flexibility and control week by week – all while learning to go upside down safely.
Acro is different from gymnastics – it’s designed to complement a dancer’s physique, with long lines, elegant movement, and performance at its heart.
MUSICAL THEATRE
For the born performers (and those building confidence too!), Musical Theatre combines acting, singing and dancing into one exciting class.
Students learn:
- Vocal technique
- Stage presence and acting skills
- Choreography
They’ll have opportunities to perform both as part of the group and as soloists, with regular studio showcases and the chance to take to the stage in our annual productions. Exams offered annually.
DANCELY
Bounce, shake and smile! Dancely introduces children to a variety of dance styles – including hip-hop, tap, ballet and creative movement – using original songs created by the songwriting teams behind Disney, Netflix and Marvel.
Every move is designed with young dancers in mind, helping them develop motor skills and musicality while keeping fun, play and imagination at the centre.
